LRMA is currently setting up a Youth Orchestra. We plan to take it to a very high level and intend for it to perform at prestigious concert venues. Our plans also include joint performances with our affiliated professional orchestra, the London International Chamber Orchestra.
We are looking for players of Grade 7 + standard and equivalent, or of exceptional talent and potential. Orchestral rehearsals will take place on Saturday afternoons in Central London during term time.
The Youth Orchestra Project will be led by Pavel Timofeyevsky who has a vast array of experience, passion and dedication in working with youth orchestras. As a conductor, Pavel has appeared on stage and in the recording studio and has worked with opera, symphony, and chamber orchestras as well as with choirs.
Pavel is a versatile pianist, composer, conductor, winner of BBC/Guardian Young Composer of the Year Award. He has appeared at most major concert venues across the UK and is quickly establishing himself on the international concert circuit.
Highlights from last season included making his US, China, Italy and Latvia debuts as pianist, collaborating with Boris Grebenschikov on one of the songs of his latest album and conducting Questors Symphony Orchestra for their 60th anniversary concert at Cadogan Hall.
